While borrowers are our end customers, each of us has other customers to consider: the loan officers have their referral sources and operations staff, and the operations team has the sale force as their customer. At every level, every team member should understand what we are doing and why. We cannot expect to achieve or even support a common goal if the agenda is not shared. We cannot work together to solve a problem if the true nature or cause is not understood by the team. We cannot be effective as a team unless we share the whole story, good and bad.

Flat Organization

No team member should fear retribution when challenging another, regardless of their position or title. We cannot expect team members to understand or support policies they cannot question. We cannot expect to develop the best practices unless everyone is free to openly play a role in their development. In our organization, fundamental problems are not solved from the top down; rather, solutions gain support when they are developed and created as a team.

The complete absence of failure is a sign of an organization that is not improving, learning or pushing its limits. We are not confined to our comfort zone. We test our limits. We are not interested in an enviroment where team members are afraid to push themselves or try something new.
